What you can and can't do on Heed.

These terms govern your use of Heed Nigeria. By creating an account you agree to them; if you don't, please stop using the service.

1. The service

Heed is a civic-safety platform for the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja). Users submit incident reports and receive area alerts. Heed is an information service. It is not a substitute for the police, NEMA, or any emergency responder. In a real emergency call the Nigerian Police Force on 112.

2. What you commit to

• Report only what you witnessed, heard from a credible source, or were personally affected by.
• Do not name private individuals in reports. Locations and incident types only.
• Do not submit fictional or coordinated reports to manipulate the map. Heed flags coordinated batches automatically and accounts will be suspended.
• Do not use Heed for stalking, doxxing, or any unlawful surveillance.

3. Confidence and moderation

Reports start as Unconfirmed. Two or more independent reports within 500 metres and 3 hours promote a cluster to Confirmed. Kidnapping reports require three independent confirmations and a moderator approval before they're shown publicly. Repeated false-flag votes against a report queue it for moderator review.

4. Emergency SOS

The SOS feature sends a notification to your saved contacts with a live-location link. Delivery depends on the email and mobile networks used by your contacts. Heed cannot guarantee delivery or response and is not liable for delays or failures by third-party carriers.

5. Premium plan

Premium is currently a roadmap item. When live, prices are quoted in Naira inclusive of VAT, billed monthly. Cancel any time from Settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

6. Account suspension

We may suspend an account that submits repeated false reports, abuses the SOS system (three false alerts in 30 days triggers a review), or attempts to abuse rate limits. Where possible we notify the affected user by email before suspending.

7. Liability

Heed provides the service "as is". Save where mandated by law, Heed and its officers are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of the service.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts of competent jurisdiction in the Federal Capital Territory.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage and via email for the affected functionality.
